I am a native Torontonian with an educational background focused on Cognitive Science having graduated from UofT. I spent most of my post-secondary years learning about the brain, its processes and ultimately the role they play in chronic and generalized anxiety, which led me to study Buddhist Psychology & Mental Health in my latter years at uni. I also spent the better part of 3 years working as a research assistant in the lab of Dr. Jordan Peterson, who has since gone on to reach international recognition for his work and philosophical views.
I have been optimistic for many years that cannabis would be legalized here in Canada and have long dreamt of building a career working with a plant that seems to have so many ways of improving peoples’ lives. Rather early in my life, I came to experience and begin to understand the therapeutic effects of cannabis, and eventually I would share this realization with my two sisters, who have since been diagnosed with Crohn’s and who currently manage their symptoms fairly well with medical cannabis (despite a long and unfruitful journey with pharmaceutical medications).
Fast-forward to now and I am currently living out my dream of being able to integrate two of my biggest passions in life: the cannabis plant & science, while regularly connecting with people who share these same passions and also wish to destigmatize and make safely accessible this unique and wonderful plant.
